Physical Therapist Supervisor (DOH/FBMC #13950)

Why does the job exist?
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop and direct a long-term care facility's Physical Therapy Services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, to assure the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
How does it get done?
Plan, prepare, or carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into computer.
Who are the customers?
Residents at a long-term care facility.
Ideal Candidate
Will have:
The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
The ability to function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of New Mexico and two (2) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field above licensure requirements and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background check and is conditional pending results. License to practice as a Physical Therapist in New Mexico.
