The project and the team
We're looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our client's team and expand their existing HTTPS-based system on AWS. The current system automates software/firmware updates for CPE (Router) devices. Your focus will be integrating on-prem Tunnel Endpoint (TE) servers into this system, enabling automatic updates for TE servers across multiple POP locations.
What else you should know:
* The team consists of less than 15 people, including an architect, project manager, Python, UI developers, DevOps, and UX designer.
* We use SCRUM/Agile methodology.
* Our tech stack for the project includes: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Reactt
* The client is based in the US.
We work on multiple interesting projects at the time, so it may happen that we’ll invite you to the interview for another project, if we see that your competencies and profile are well suited for it.
Your role
As a part of the project team, you will be responsible for:
* Integrate TE servers with proprietary system for update automation.
* Develop Python scripts and tools on AWS systems and TE.
* PostgreSQL database updates to support upgrades.
* Resolve Linux environment issues.
Do we have a match?
As a Senior engineer you must meet the following criteria:
* Excellent knowledge of Bash and Python
* Good knowledge of PostgreSQL
* Good knowledge of Cloud-native tech, especially AWS
* Good knowledge and understanding of Linux systems
* Good knowledge of English (B2 level)
Beyond the criteria above, we would appreciate the nice-to-haves:
* Good knowledge of computer networks (TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, VRF)
* Good knowledge of SDN and NFV
* Experience working with distributed systems
