We are seeking a skilled and experienced Principal AI Data & Governance Analyst to design, develop and manage data architecture for our organization's software applications. The Principal AI Data & Governance Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and effective design and implementation of AI-driven application data structures, databases, and associated systems as well as ensure such solutions adhere to internal and external governance standards. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of application data management principles, data modeling techniques, data integration strategies, data and solution quality assurance and will be able to apply these skills to develop efficient, secure, and scalable data solutions that meet business requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain application data architecture and design standards for all software applications in the AI portfolio.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement data models, database schemas, and associated data management systems, ensuring implementations align with broader architectural standards.
3. Collaborate with developers to ensure optimal performance of application data layers and optimize data access and retrieval.
4. Collaborate with data scientists to optimize ingestion, cleaning and organization of data for their analysis and models.
5. Ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies and regulations.
6. Ensure solutions and client data usage comply with emerging AI governance principles and standards, particularly considering fair and ethical practices.
7. Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
8. Collaborate with the data office to define appropriate data loads for the data warehouse to support organizational needs such as feature stores.
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of 5 combined years of experience in data architecture and design for software applications and/or data governance/quality roles.
3. Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques, database design, and associated data management systems (such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL).
4. Experience with No-SQL concepts and data stores such as DynamoDB and MongoDB.
5. Experience with ETL processes and data integration strategies.
6. Strong understanding of data security and privacy policies and regulations.
7. Experience working with AI applications and mitigating unique associated challenges such as minimizing bias. Recent experience working with LLMs or other foundational models is a bonus.
8. Experience with quality assurance related to compliance, regulatory or other contractual obligations is strongly preferred.
9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
10. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
11. Experience in cloud-based data architecture (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) required.
12. Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) is strongly preferred.
13. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is nice to have.
14. Experience with data governance and metadata management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica) is preferred.
15. Experience in Agile development methodologies is preferred.

We also offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, and education. In addition to base pay, Paycor Associates are eligible for either a performance-based annual bonus or commission, depending on their position.
