The Product Innovation Director – Product Incubation is a versatile role, able to lead a variety of product development efforts and partnerships to launch impactful product concepts and platforms that can scale. This role will work collaboratively with lean teams composed of entrepreneurs, product managers and full-stack developers in an agile environment.
The Visa Innovation is a fast-paced team that requires futurist thinkers that can inspire, coach others as well as be hands-on doers.
Responsibilities
1. Think holistically about the design of new offerings and the implications related to both the customer’s experience as well as the venture’s ability to implement and scale.
2. Manage the development and launch of new product features and reports through the entire product development lifecycle, from concept through implementation, and release.
3. Apply experience to create innovative value driven solutions and insights while also establishing an outstanding user experience.
4. Apply an informed perspective on how to leverage leading edge technologies to build products that will scale.
5. Practice an agile approach to planning, problem solving, prioritization and development, rapidly prototyping at low fidelity whenever feasible to accelerate knowledge development.
6. Use divergent design thinking techniques for the conceptual development of products, services and/or physical connected form-factors.
7. Converge innovative ideas to a set of digital and tangible products, services and/or physical connected form-factors in partnership with venture architects, product managers and engineering.
8. Partner the design, solutions & tech teams to drive trusted personalized product and user experiences.
9. Own product research and analytics to drive data informed decisions.
10. Own key product pilot initiative workstreams, to take solutions from definition & validation into piloting. Lead deployment and testing, capture feedback, iterate and improve.
11. Own pilot execution runway including client and partner contracting across markets for business cases being tested.
12. Define pilot go to market strategies and successfully manage new products and features building a de-risked ramp for commercialization at scale.
13. Own, evaluate, improve OKRs like conversion rates & revenue targets for pilots.
14. Produce assets from product positioning to product sheets, presentations, etc.
15. Act as a thought leader on market trends, competition, regulation, and emerging technologies.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
• Minimum bachelor’s degree, ideally in related technical field, or equivalent practical experience in conjunction with a less technical bachelor’s degree. MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in a related field with product management experience including, product conception as well as launching, building, and deploying multiple products.
• Strong understanding of product development and rapid prototyping capabilities.
• Experience working with a variety of stakeholders, clients, and external partners
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in driving third party technology partnerships and contract management.
• Demonstrated organizational, planning, and analytical skills, including project scheduling, estimating, risk identification, and change management.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve strategic goals in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently, yet seamlessly integrate activities and collaborate effectively within a program team across other organizations
• Ability to influence without direct authority to achieve necessary goals.
• Ability to steer complex decisions, great product storyteller, able to convincingly present product roadmap & business cases.
• A passion for solving the problems of the future through innovation, technology & design.
• Be able to multitask and manage a varying workload with minimal supervision.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English, Spanish is a plus.
• Experience in the payment industry is a plus.
