Requirements are in priority order.
* Networking Basics
* IP Addressing: Knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6, subnetting, and network addressing.
* Routing & Switching: Understanding of network routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), switching concepts, VLANs, and network topologies.
* Protocols: Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, and other common network protocols.
* Firewalls & NAT: Understanding of firewall configurations, Network Address Translation (NAT), and VPNs.
* Setting up ISP connection: Have experience setting up on-prem ISP connection and have good handle with troubleshooting router, gateway, and switch connectivity issues.
* Telecommunications Knowledge
* Cellular Network Basics: Knowledge of cellular network types (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G), LTE, CDMA, and their respective architectures.
* Signal Strength & Attenuation: Understanding of how signal strength works, attenuation, interference, and how to optimize for better connectivity.
* Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering: Familiarity with RF principles, frequency bands, modulation, and how RF impacts cellular networks.
* Troubleshooting Cellular Connectivity: Experience identifying and resolving issues related to cellular connectivity, including dropped calls, data packet loss, and signal degradation.
* Inventory Management: Manage company assets at the organizational level. Tracking inventory and its logistics on a fairly regular basis.
* Signal & Data Troubleshooting:
* Network Performance Analysis: Experience with network performance tools such as Wireshark, ping, traceroute, and cellular signal strength testing tools.
* Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Ability to use signal strength and attenuation data to diagnose issues and optimize performance in cellular environments.
* Latency, Bandwidth, and Throughput: Ability to measure and optimize network latency, bandwidth, and throughput, especially for cloud-based environments.
* AWS Basics: Familiarity with core AWS services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC (Virtual Private Cloud).
* Data Transfer to AWS: Understanding how data moves from on-premise or cellular networks to AWS (e.g., through direct connections, VPNs, or AWS Direct Connect).
* Cloud Networking: Familiarity with AWS VPC, subnets, route tables, VPNs, and security groups.
* Monitoring and Troubleshooting AWS Connectivity: Ability to monitor and troubleshoot issues related to data transfer, latency, and security between local networks and AWS.
Security Knowledge:
* Encryption: Understanding of encryption methods used in telecommunications and cloud networking.
* Network Security: Familiarity with secure tunneling protocols (e.g., IPSec, SSL/TLS), firewall configurations, and data protection strategies.
DevOps Knowledge: Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and monitoring tools like CloudWatch.
Collaboration & Communication: Strong ability to communicate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical teams.
