Public Policy Manager, Spanish Speaking South America
Meta is seeking a Public Policy Manager to support the strategy and engagement for messaging and AI products in Spanish Speaking South America. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with or in government, politics, regulatory agencies, or think tanks and a solid understanding of technical and policy issues. As Manager of Public Policy, you will join the Meta Policy Team Latin America and help shape issues and product agendas with policy-makers inside and outside government. You will also advise internal teams on the public policy implications of their products and coordinate strategic outreach and policy campaigns to advance the values and interests of Meta’s AI and private messaging products.
You will develop, organize, manage, and communicate critical plans, initiatives, and strategies, advocating for private messaging and AI in the context of some of the big public policy issues of the day – including privacy, security, and user safety. This role is based in Buenos Aires.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitor the Spanish Speaking South American political landscape and assess risks and opportunities, including stakeholder mapping.
2. Design and execute policy strategies, engaging with key stakeholders.
3. Help to build adequate policy narratives and deliver them to stakeholders.
4. Build and develop rapport with key stakeholders.
5. Coordinate messaging policy agenda with internal XFNs.
6. Advise on strategic product and monetization decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in law, political science, international affairs, or similar.
2. 7+ years of work experience, including experience managing high-profile policy campaigns and strategic outreach with diverse stakeholders within policy advocacy or in a government position.
3. Experience in internet technologies, security, privacy, content moderation, artificial intelligence and the surrounding policy environments.
4. Experience executing cross-functional campaigns.
5. Ability to work as part of a team and exercise good judgment and a sense of humor in a rapidly changing environment.
6. Superb written and verbal communication skills, native in Spanish, fluency and proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Advanced degree in related areas.
2. Experience working in Government and/or Civil Society organizations.
3. Experience in tech product counseling.
