Purpose of the Job
Oxitec is at the forefront of advancing innovative biological pest control technologies to save lives and improve livelihoods.
Known for our Friendly & Powerful technology, we are now seeking a highly motivated Field Trial Analyst who is passionate about biological insect control to be part of our Field Operations Team.
You must have strong teamwork skills, resilience, flexibility, a spirit of cooperation, and excellent attention to detail.
As part of a growing team, you will contribute to the design and analysis of our Agricultural and Public Health programs field trials in Brazil.
You will take a proactive approach to making sure field trials are designed, analysed and reported to world-class standards, enabling delivery of product performance and regulator-required results.
Working closely with our in-country Functional and Technical Leads, Program Leads, and our in-country partner organisations, you will provide expert support to the teams.
This will be through ensuring that all trial designs are rigorous and that the significant data collection requirements are met to deliver successful pilot outcomes.
**Responsibilities**:
- Design, track data collection, and support with any adjustments to field and laboratory trials;
- Prepare study protocols and SOPs;
- Analyse and process data;
- Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders;
- Provide technical support and work closely with Field Operations, R&D and Data Management teams;
- Travel to field sites will be required to best understand on-the-ground practicalities.
Skills, Experience, and Education Requirements
- Education to MSc or beyond, with extensive experience in analysis in complex data sets;
- Thorough understanding of insect biology and field ecology;
- Experience with field work and/or crop pest biology strongly preferred;
- Proficiency in statistical methodologies;
- Experience in vector biology and/or crop pest biology strongly preferred;
- Responsiveness and attention to detail will be required;
- Confidence with MS Excel is essential, additional experience with the ArcGIS suite and/or Python is desirable;
- Ability to summarize and present complex data to a non-expert audience in written and verbal form;
- Understanding of challenges associated with field deployments;
- Fluency in English is required.
