Improving Nitrogen use efficiency and soil organic matter sequestration to reduce nitrogen fertilization and soil inputs, to better soil quality - PRR-C05-i03-I-000020 taking place at Instituto Superior de Agronomia, financed by the PTT Terra Futura program, under the following conditions:1.
TYPE, DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIPS and EXPECTED START PERIOD OF THE SCHOLARSHIPThe competition is intended to award a Research Grant to a student enrolled in a course that does not award an academic degree with an expected duration of 6 months, possibly renewable for a maximum of 12 months, scheduled to start in April 2025.2.
PLAN AND WORKPLACE:Development of project tasksSupport for the production of periodical reports and writing of scientific articles.
Participation in training actions in Portugal and abroad, included in the project's work plan and in events to disseminate the project's results.The work will be carried out at the Higher Institute of Agronomy of the University of Lisbon, and at the project partner sites where training activities or tests deemed essential for the continuation of the master's project are carried out, under the scientific guidance of Cláudia S C Marques-dos-Santos.3.
PRESENTATION OF APPLICATIONSApplications must be formalised, obligatorily, by sending a letter of motivation, with the reference "NOTS-Refª-BL-13-2025", accompanied by the following documents: Curriculum Vitae, copy of the qualification certificate and other supporting documents considered relevant.Applications must be sent to Prof. Cláudia S C Marques-dos-Santos via email: ******, indicating the reference "NOTS-Refª-BL-13-2025" in the subject of the email.The application period will run from February 28th to March 13th, 2025.Exceptionally, in duly justified situations, proof of enrollment in a study cycle or course that does not award a degree, documents proving ownership of academic degrees and diplomas, may be waived during the application phase for the support in question, with this condition being verified only in the scholarship contracting phase.If the qualification has been conferred by a foreign higher education institution, it will have to be recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution, under the terms of Decree-Law no.
341/2007, of October 12, regulated by Ordinance no.
2017, of 25 July and updated by Decree-Law No.
66/2018.4.
SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL TERMS AND CONDITIONSScholarships may be renewed for additional periods up to their maximum duration, provided that, on the renewal date, the assumptions for granting them are met, always depending on the request submitted, within 60 working days prior to the renewal start date.5.
SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS5.1 Admission Requirements:Academic area of the Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environment and/or Agronomy or AgricultureThey are intended for carrying out initial R&D activities by students enrolled in a course not conducive to obtaining an academic degree, with a view to starting their scientific training;Complete command of the Portuguese language, spoken and written.5.2 Special requirements:Scientific area Environment and/or Agronomy or AgricultureDegree in the field of Environment or AgricultureMaster's degree in the field of Environment or AgricultureProven environmental knowledge for agriculture graduates and vice versaProven experience of collaboration, albeit occasional, with multidisciplinary and international teamsComplete command of spoken and written EnglishMastering the use of computer media and digital communication platforms.6.
FUNDING AND SCHOLARSHIP COMPONENTSThe grant will be funded under the NOTS-NitroOrganicToSoils project.
Improving Nitrogen use efficiency and soil organic matter sequestration to reduce nitrogen fertilization and soil inputs, to better soil quality - PRR-C05-i03-I-000020.The value of the monthly maintenance subsidy corresponds to €1.309,64, to which is added the reimbursement of the voluntary social insurance (applicable to scholarships with a duration equal to or greater than six months).The final assessment will be obtained taking into account the following weightings: 50% for the curriculum assessment (AC) and 50% for the motivation assessment (AM).8.
EVALUATIONComposition of the Selection and Evaluation Jury:9.
DISCLOSURE OF RESULTSForm of advertising/notification of results: The final results of the evaluation will be publicized, through a list ordered, alphabetically, by final grade, posted in a visible and public place of the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, with the candidate being approved notified via email.10.
TERMS AND PROCEDURES FOR PRIOR HEARING, CLAIM AND APPEALAfter communicating the provisional list of the evaluation results, the candidates with a project of decision unfavorable to the granting of the scholarship, have a period of 10 working days to, if they wish, do their statements in the preliminary hearing of interested parties.In the event that a scholarship holder terminates his scholarship in advance, the evaluation of the contest in question may be used to contract a new scholarship with the candidate who was in the position immediately after.12.
