What you will do
Purpose:
The Transport Coordinator will work in the Transport Material area as responsible for inbound transport operations, ensuring pickups and deliveries are made within established deadlines and securing availability of parts for our production lines and distribution centers. They will be responsible for planning, monitoring and daily optimization of our transport network.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Managing domestic and international transport flows, ensuring pickups and deliveries are made within established deadlines and following arrival priority criteria;
2. Managing carriers and freight forwarders to ensure the quality standards defined in the operation manuals are met;
3. Enhancing daily transport optimization to minimize both transportation costs and CO2 emissions;
4. Daily management of "Milk Run" flows, monitoring each step of the process and taking corrective actions in case of deviations;
5. Ensuring distribution of information to internal customers, especially for critical shipments;
6. Resolving carrier deviations using structured problem-solving methods;
7. Identify and implement improvements in logistics processes;
8. Relationship with carriers, agreeing on goals, standards, and performance expectations;
9. Development of Operation Manuals;
10. Secure Transport Capacity through collaboration with our carrier base on volume planning and forecasting;
11. Managing urgent shipments outside of contracts, requesting freight quotations when necessary.
