About the Role: Here at James Fisher Fendercare we are always looking for experienced seafarers. The role as STS Superintendent / POAC allows you to offer expert advice to the respective vessel masters involved in STS operations in order to accomplish a safe, co-ordinated and timely STS transfer.
In performing the role of the Person in Overall Advisory Control (POAC) you will: Review the location-specific risk assessment and verify that any site-specific or operation specific risk mitigations are in placeVerify the provision of STS equipment, ensuring it is correct and fit for purpose for the operationAttend and oversee the mobilisation process to ensure equipment is rigged in line with the intended operational plan and oversee the correct placement of primary and secondary fendersSight and review mooring equipmentConduct pre-operations discussion with the responsible persons of involved vessels, including lightering support craft and tugs as appropriateDiscuss current and forecasted environmental conditions and the need for their continuous monitoring throughout the operation(s)Review the Joint Plan of Operation (JPO) and ensure all details including emergency response are discussed and agreed with both vessel mastersCreate a suitable mooring plan and verify joint agreement of the mooring and unmooring plans with STS vessels. Where required the plan is to be reviewed and approved by JFF officeSupervise vessel approach, manoeuvring alongside, unmooring and the separation of vesselsSupervise and confirm safe connection and disconnection of hoses / arms in accordance with JFF proceduresVerify that agreed STS operating procedures are followed and that the operation is conducted in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirementsProvide operational updates as regularly as means of communications allowConfirm that all required reports are made to the appropriate authorities and that all relevant checklists are completedConfirm that cargo transfer rates are being monitored together with associated vapour management procedures, in accordance with the agreed cargo planVerify that cargo transfer lines are properly drained, purged, and depressurised where requiredSupervise the return of primary and secondary fenders, hoses, and transfer equipment to safe storage REQUISITOS/ REQUIREMENTS: Aquaviários do 1° Grupo Marítimos – Seção Convés, certificado na Regra II/2 do STCW, na categoria de CCB ou acima;Oil tanker Endorsement (Anexo I - Petróleo);Chemical Tanker Endorsement (Anexo II - Produtos Químicos);Liquefied Gas Tanker Endorsement (Gás Liquefeito);Certificação em manobra e atracação;BRM / MRM / BTM / HELM (ou equivalente);Proficiência em Inglês (Será testado).Disponibilidade para trabalhar na América Latina. Seafarers of the 1st Maritime Group – Deck Department, certified under Regulation II/2 of the STCW, in the category of Chief Mate or higher;Oil Tanker Endorsement (Annex I - Petroleum);Chemical Tanker Endorsement (Annex II - Chemicals);Liquefied Gas Tanker Endorsement (Liquefied Gas);Certification in maneuvering and mooring;BRM / MRM / BTM / HELM (or equivalent);Proficiency in English (Will be tested)Availability to work in Latin America. CONHECIMENTOS DESEJÁVEIS/ DESIRABLE: Conhecimento de técnicas de resposta a derramamentos de óleo, incluindo limpeza e gestão de planos de contingência;Experiência na realização de operações de atracação/desatracação e operações de carga de petroleiros;Conhecimento do Guia de Transferência de Navio para Navio para Petróleo, Produtos Químicos e Gases Liquefeitos. Knowledge of oil spill response techniques, including cleaning and contingency plan management;Experience in conducting mooring/unmooring operations and tanker loading operations;Familiarity with the Ship-to-Ship Transfer Guide for Petroleum, Chemicals, and Liquefied Gases.
