HSE is responsible for preserving and promoting an innovative level of quality in the safest environment possible for employees, supplier and clients.
**Responsiibilities**
Based in Natal/RN, this manager will:
- Actively support the development and realization of a "Zero Incident Culture"
- Promote the quality, safety and environmental culture and ensure compliance to the Vestas Management System (and the applicable standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 y ISO 45001) and encourage continuous improvement of all activities.
- Support implementation at country level of local Safety and Environmental (HSE) legal requirements, corporate and local HSE strategy
- Creation of local HSE documents (risk assessments, HSE plans, emergency response processes, communications, etc).
- Identify and evaluate all dangerous conditions establishing the necessary corrective and preventive measures.
- Define the training content for safety and environmental related trainings (as example safety introduction for technicians, safety awareness, etc) and support the Training Center in the delivery of the safety trainings when needed.
- Perform HSE training including set up of training requirements according to local legislation
- Plan and implement the agreed (with Business) inspections and audits, handing over to the affected department a full report with all findings, supporting afterwards Business in establishing the necessary correction, corrective/preventive actions, performing the implementation follow up and verifying the effective closing.
- Support Business in identifying the necessary operational control measures for correct risk management of the Business activities; as example inspection Interval of personal protective equipment or tools, elevators, safety lines etc.
- Support the preparation through content advice of the HSE meetings (statistics, accidents presentations, etc) to be performed in Service Centers/Construction Sites by Business
- Follow up of contractors/subcontractors including mobilization/demobilization, post-work assessment and audits when needed
- Responsible to provide expertise and support in incident and hazardous observation/near miss investigation and root cause analysis
- Coordinate emergency response drills and exercises
- Perform site visits and inspections
- Field activities in warehouses and construction/service sites (25-40%)
- Supervise and be involved in the HSE committees according to legal and Vestas requirements
- Management of the HSE Service officers team spread throughout Brazil
- Responsible to provide support and collaboration on HSE matters related to the country
- Define and review of local HSE legal requirements and local HSE strategy
- Define local HSE specifications for contractors/subcontractors.
- Technical review of global HSE documents
- Guide and mentor the organization in HSE activities
- Participation in tender processes (preparation of HSE documentation) and contract review from Environmental, Health & Safety perspective
- Focal point for Safety and Environmental issues for authorities, community, customers, subcontractors and Sales Business Unit (SBU) HSE
- Assist with various tasks contributing to staff organization
- Perform and follow up internal audits at SU and SBU level.

**Qualifications**
- +5 years of work experience within a managerial position in HSE in an international work environment,.
renewable, oil & gas or construction sector experience is desirable
- Bachelor degree in H&S or engineering curriculum
- A master degree preferred in Health and Safety, Environment (preferably chartered IOSH member)
- Native Portuguese and proficiency level of English
- Other languages would be an added value
- IRCA Lead auditor in ISO14001 and ISO45001 would be an added value
- In-depth knowledge of HSE standards and best practices, quality ISO standards, concepts, processes and procedures
- Proficiency in contractor/subcontractor Sustainability management, including mobilization/demobilization, pre-qualification requirements and post-work assessment
- Expertise in hazard jobsite assessment/analysis/solution, risk assessments, incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Development/implementation of processes and procedures, including comprehensive HSE Plans
- Conducting inspections and audits

- Proven and effective communication skills at every level (from site to boardroom) required
- Ability to supervise and prioritize tasks, to work with no supervision, adapt to new/changing situations
- Ability to coordinate a remote team
- Solid interpersonal, computer, presentation and collaboration skills
- Flexibility to travel to sites across the region is required
