Job Purpose and Impact
The Gis Analyst will create complex insights on monetizable businesses questions using powerful geo analytics that connect live, bottom up company intelligence and create competitive edge not possible from other ways.
In this role, you will research, understand and agree on the key local business questions to be answered before deploying plans on data, technology, geo analytics and models, people and culture in the region.
You will coach, orient and support other teams on the geographic information science usage to solve relevant business questions locally and will guide and advise more junior analysts to use, create and run methodologies and medium models focused on solving powerful and monetizable business questions.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute best in class complex global information science analytics efforts defined by the regional strategy and ensure message is heard and understood by local businesses.
- Execute towards speed, accuracy and communication of complex confidence intervals for global information science forecasts and contribute to the development of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Run, use and challenge global information science team analysis, methodologies and models such as area survey using satellite images, index analysis and spatial analysis to deliver results and intelligence to influence and support the creation of insights for the businesses.
- Execute on the transformation of broad geographic information science knowledge and usage into businesses insights and competitive advantage to the local business by facilitation of analysis distribution to internal experts to influence and support their insights to the commercial and trading teams locally.
- Coach global information science analysts to provide real value, assist them to understand the connection between the team and the local business needs and establish the knowledge of the value add of each specific local analysis for the business.
- Support the local geographic information science link within the region, trading, analytical and various other teams to gather data and market knowledge to incorporate the use of spatial analysis to create businesses competitive advantage.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Understanding of complex modeling techniques and big data management.
- Expertise in geodata processing software (QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Advanced knowledge in automated processing of satellite data
- Geo database management (ESRI SDE, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Programming knowledge (Python, R, IDL, SQL, Java)
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and execute under tight timelines and pressure
- Advanced English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master or PhD degree
- Experience with data visualization using web or dashboard tools
- Understanding of data integration and ETL platforms
- Hands-on expertise in intelligent automation use cases
- Experience with cloud-native data warehouse
