Position Summary:
The 3PL Inventory Manager plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and strategic inventory management within our third-party logistics framework. This position is responsible for aligning inventory strategies with business objectives to optimize supply chain efficiency, enhance customer satisfaction, and reduce operational costs. The 3PL Inventory Manager oversees the inventory management processes within a third-party logistics environment, managing stock levels between all systems between Nespresso and the 3PL, ensuring accurate inventory records, and collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize inventory flow and minimize costs. This position is an active participant in 3PL NCE, monitoring KPIs, compliance, auditing, and internal customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Improvement:
o Apply project management techniques to facilitate work process improvements across logistic operations (Quality, Safety & Environmental, Logistics, etc.)
o Lead Inventory topics in DOR and WOR with 3PL. Own multiple KPIs and be responsible for populating metrics and improving KPIs with NCE methodology (DMAIC, LEAN, GSTD).
2. NCE - Ops Reviews, OMP, Process Improvement:
o Lead NCE at the 3PL national level, ensuring Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Operational Reviews are executed;
o Facilitate NCE within the MDC, implementing Operational Reviews, KPIs, and Improvement projects.
o Ensure high priority issues are reviewed, actions are implemented, and resolutions are sustained.
o Ensure all monthly logistics KPIs are posted to HQ global KPI site.
3. Stock Management:
o Lead the team responsible for day-to-day stock management of stock valued over $150 million throughout the entire Nespresso USA warehouse network.
o Manage complex inventory processes tied to four different stock images across six different stock locations.
o Forecast and follow Bad Goods trends and actuals, managing strategy to reduce bad goods.
o Track FEFO compliance metrics with the 3PL.
o Review and understand 3PL and Nespresso contract to ensure all metrics are being met.
o Act as key point person for TQM for quality issues related to inventory.
o Oversee daily and monthly reconciliations of stock locations.
o Lead quarterly stock counts and reconciliation.
o Manage bad goods improvement and reporting.
o Oversee salvage stock inventory and support marketing with sales promotion.
4. Other Responsibilities:
o Support daily inventory-related requests from various departments.
o Lead special projects related to inventory.
o Ensure after hours coverage as needed for order flow issues.
o Lead Nespresso in all Internal and External audits reviewing inventory processes.
o Act as primary backfill for direct reports and manager as needed.
Experience & Education Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or GED Required.
2. BA/BS Degree required (Industrial Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or equivalent preferred) OR equivalent work experience.
3. 3-5+ years of supply chain, manufacturing/distribution/warehouse operations, inventory control, or physical logistics experience preferred.
4. Experience leading a team preferred.
5. Professional experience in Logistics/EDI/Stock Reconciliation and dealing with 3rd Party Warehousing required.
6. Strong working knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange and Warehouse Management Systems preferred.
7. Up to 15% travel.
8. Flexibility and adaptability to the demands of a fast-paced environment.
9. High proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
The approximate pay range for this position is $110,000.00 to $120,000.00. Please note that this pay range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
