As a Material Artist, you will play a crucial role in crafting the visual identity of our games by creating and maintaining a diverse library of textures and materials for a wide range of 3D assets across our game productions.
If you're self-driven, deeply passionate about games, and thrive in a creative environment, this position perfectly matches you!YOUR DAILY TASKSCollaborate with the Art and Technical teams in developing advanced shaders, smart materials, and tileable textures that elevate our games and add value to the game development processWork closely with our Directors, Art Leads, and fellow artists to create texture maps for in-game assets while following and enforcing technical guidelinesCreate and maintain texture graphs and materials using tools like Substance DesignerDocument production workflows and mentor artists in our current pipelines and industry-standard methodsBe responsible for seamlessly integrating your work into the material and tool librariesCollaborate with other teams in problem-solving production and challenges with a creative approachWork with artists to revise and respond based on feedback for both aesthetic and technical requirementsProvide guidance and assistance to the Art Team as they develop and implement their work throughout the game pipelinesBe aware of your workload while completing tasks during your sprint time and resolve any issues that arise in collaboration with the Lead and ProducerREQUIREMENTSStrong proven experience creating Materials, Textures, and ShadersStrong understanding of PBR rendering and materialsProficiency in software such as Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Quixel Mixer, or equivalent toolsExperience working with photogrammetry and scanned textures, adapting, tweaking, and combining as needed by the project style and themeA portfolio showcasing your expertise in developing high-quality game-ready texturesKnowledge of the Unreal Engine 4 or 5, Material Editor, and the Texture setup and optimization processExcellent written and spoken English communication skills are essentialA strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptabilityProactively voice concerns and constructively raise issuesAbility to improve and establish processes to enhance the material and texture creation workflows and streamline the pipelineAccount for texel ratio and UV mappingStrong knowledge of any of the commercial Game EnginesExamples of procedural textures used on props and environmentsA good grasp of color theory and lightingExperience with project management tools (Jira, Clickup, Confluence, etc...)BONUS POINTSAt least two years of professional experience in the game development industry as a Texture/Material ArtistExperience with shader and Unreal Engine Material creationYou have shipped any commercial games beforeYou have experience in ScrumWE OFFERPossibility of working 100% remotePrivate medical care (entirely financed by the employer)Sports Card (FitProfit card)Hog's Academy - development budgetProfessional mental health supportLanguage lessons (Polish and English)Flexible working hours (core hours 11:00-16:00)Influence on various aspects of the game - the whole team is creating the game - your opinion countsThe team consists of experienced veterans, which means - huge developmentWorking environment based on a strong team spirit and positive energyFlying Wild Hog is an acclaimed game development company located in Poland.
