We are seeking a Senior WordPress Developer to join an existing project focused on enhancing and maintaining a WordPress-based platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in frontend development, WordPress customization, and plugin development, with a strong understanding of best practices in performance optimization, security, and documentation. This is a part-time, remote position with the potential to transition into a full-time. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement UI updates and rebranding based on provided UI/UX designs. Review, analyze, and optimize an existing WordPress codebase to ensure maintainability and efficiency. Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities. Create and maintain documentation for the existing codebase, ensuring clarity for future development. Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins as needed. Collaborate with the existing Senior WordPress Developer and stakeholders to align with project goals. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in WordPress development. Expertise in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and WordPress theme/plugin development. Strong front-end skills and ability to work with UI/UX designs. Proven ability to understand, refactor, and document an existing codebase. Experience with performance optimization and security best practices. Familiarity with Git and version control workflows. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Excellent communication and ability to work in a remote, collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with LearnDash or other LMS-related plugins. Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies. Knowledge of REST APIs and third-party integrations within WordPress.
