The Sibelco Group operates over 110 production sites in 31 countries, with a team of over 5,000 people.Location: JarinuReady to Elevate Your Career with Sibelco?As a Sustainability Specialist, you will work closely with the Global Sustainability Team, the Director of Sustainability, and the Cluster Team (Operations) to help Sibelco meet sustainability and environmental objectives.
This role is key in securing and maintaining the license to operate, implementing global sustainability programs, and aligning with local environmental regulations.
You will need to be flexible and mobile, between Sibelco's various sites, with travel requirements ranging from 40% to 60% of your time.
This may include occasional overnight stays in hotels depending on site locations and project needs.Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Permitting and Land Management: Collaborate with the Director of Sustainability and Cluster Team to secure and uphold environmental and mining permits.Support land management activities to comply with environmental regulations.Environmental Compliance and Impact Reduction: Coordinate environmental impact assessments and required studies to meet regulatory standards.Monitor and manage environmental factors, including water, biodiversity, emissions, waste, pollution, and land use.Stakeholder and Community Engagement: Engage proactively with local communities and stakeholders throughout the permitting process and site lifecycle.Act as a representative in community engagement efforts, promoting environmental responsibility.Global Program Implementation: Provide input and implement global sustainability programs and KPIs in partnership with the global Sustainability Team.Support projects and contribute to case studies that highlight environmental stewardship.What We're Looking For:A bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental management, or similar studies.Ideally, some relevant experience or exposure to government or regulatory authority interactions, though entry-level candidates are also encouraged to apply.A self-managed professional, able to work independently and take a hands-on approach to tasks and challenges.Proficiency in English and Portuguese; additional language skills are an asset.But most importantly, if you embrace our core values and if this role sparks your enthusiasm to apply your passion to contribute in a meaningful way as a part of Sibelco's team of unique talents within a diverse international business community, then we very much look forward to hearing from you.To Apply: Please click apply to register your information and contact details on the recruitment portal so one of our team can get in touch.Inclusive Team Culture: Sibelco recognises the strength of our diverse global workforce and values difference and inclusion for all.
