We're seeking a Product Designer to drive the visual and strategic design of our products and brand assets. This role is pivotal in establishing the company’s design standards, improving the user experience, and envisioning our future product direction. You will work closely with the CEO and other key stakeholders to elevate our product and brand, creating high-quality, professional designs that align with our company’s vision and strategic goals.
Optave is a Canadian company providing Artificial Intelligence automation and assistance for customer support teams from enterprise companies. This is a 100% remote position, although the company has possibilities for relocation to Canada for top performers.

Key Responsibilities
Establish Design Standards
* Develop and maintain color palettes, typography, presentation templates, and style guides.
* Introduce best practices and consistent design patterns across all deliverables.
Elevate User Interfaces
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing) to improve existing user interfaces and user experience.
* Identify flaws and areas of improvement in current designs, proposing high-quality solutions.
Vision & Strategy
* Work directly with the CEO to shape the long-term product vision, translating abstract ideas into tangible design concepts.
* Conduct benchmarks and research to inform product direction and creative solutions.
Design Execution
* Produce high-quality designs for both digital and print materials (presentations, mockups, prototypes, etc.).
* Utilize Figma (and other relevant tools) to create, iterate, and refine design assets with minimal supervision.
Quality Assurance
* Maintain an elevated quality standard, ensuring all design outputs are polished, professional, and consistent with brand guidelines.
Required Skills & Experience
* English Fluency: The official language of the company is English, so all materials and meetings are done in English. Being capable of fully understanding and communicating in English is essential for this role.
* Design Expertise: A strong portfolio showcasing your ability to distinguish and produce great designs. Proven experience creating high-quality UI/UX, preferably with minimal supervision.
* Figma Proficiency: Expertise in Figma for prototyping, wireframing, and design collaboration.
* Vision & Abstract Thinking: Demonstrated ability to conceptualize products and strategies from limited guidance, turning complex ideas into actionable designs.
* Attention to Detail: Commitment to delivering polished, professional, and detail-oriented work.
* Past Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). Experience in a design-centric role (in-house or agency), with a consistent record of producing exceptional designs.
