Work Location: Offshore, Brazil Type of hiring: Contract (31 October 2024 30 December 2025) Description about project: We are seeking a Mechanical Rotating Supervisor for the offshore phase.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all activities related to rotating equipment are properly prepared, executed, completed, and documented in compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and contractual obligations.
This role will be crucial in collaborating with the contractor to ensure best practices are followed during installation and testing.
Additionally, you will play a key role in providing solutions to the contractor in challenging areas or situations, while also working alongside and developing local inspectors.
You must possess the necessary skills and expertise to troubleshoot and address complex issues, particularly with a strong background in both process and automation.
Key responsibilities: Monitor and report on the performance of the Contractor, subcontractors, and package/equipment vendors, with a strong focus on HSE, technical quality, and project progress.
Take proactive and corrective actions as needed, while respecting the Contractors responsibility.
Collaborate with engineering and commissioning teams to contribute to technical solutions.
Ensure that the installed equipment aligns with established plans and is delivered on time.
Ensure that the Contractor and vendors meet the required quality standards.
Ensure the timely closure of actions and punch items by the Contractor, verified by your team.
Establish clear and effective communication with the Contractor, from management to individual disciplines.
Maintain a dedicated focus on HSE throughout the project by all parties involved.
Prioritise strong coordination and interface management among all involved parties on site.
Interface, cooperate, and align with other project areas to ensure seamless integration.
Identify deviations or non-conformities and manage them according to project procedures.
Facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experience both to and from the project.
Qualifications: MSc/BSc in relevant engineering fields with a minimum of 5 years of installation and testing experience; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
Demonstrated technical expertise in mechanical systems, particularly with thermodynamic machinery such as gas turbines and centrifugal compressors.
Strong commitment to HSE, combined with commercial awareness and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
Practical background in mechanical equipment installation, ensuring effective field support.
In-depth knowledge of international standards, best practices, and oil & gas industry multidiscipline interfaces.
Experience with TRs and API standards for rotating equipment is expected.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a blend of process and automation expertise.
