This is the second career level in this division-wide global technical group and represents a shift to fully contributing in projects that are moderately complex, and occasionally challenging in nature.What You Will Do:Establishing corresponding procedures for change control and configuration.Prepare Engineering Change Notification (ECN) documentation required to support engineering and manufacturing processes.Communicating and coordinating with design engineers, manufacturing facility coordinators, NPI/NSI leads and other stakeholders to determine processes for change reporting.Review released engineering change data and release Engineering Change Notification (ECN) activities to ensure compliance with product configuration management policies and regulations.What You Will Have - Skills:Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
Working largely independently, with support as required, the incumbent works as a key member of multiple multi-functional NPI / Non-NPI teams.
The incumbent will collaborate with product engineers and other key personnel to accurately author product introduction and change information, in the ECN spreadsheet and SAP change master, to effectively communicate engineering change information to global downstream business partners.
Responsibilities include assisting with cross-functional collaboration to ensure all required implementation dates are available and challenged as appropriate to allow for successful change implementation.
The incumbent is responsible for the validation and creation of material masters in a timely fashion to support ECN; aftermarket; design to order and component plants for multiple brands in multiple SAP systems.
In addition, they are responsible for the creation and manipulation of optimal BoM structures to support global manufacturing facilities, and final checks and approvals in engineering systems.Accuracy, Attention to Detail & Effective Communications: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
MDC Engineers / technologists apply their system; process; technical and product knowledge to prioritize and resolve inbox tasks and incidents, coaching less experienced team members on issues and providing input to or leading 1-Page DMAIC discussions, as required, to ensure successful identification of root cause and permanent corrective action.
The ability to communicate highly complex, technical information to non-technical personnel, interpret, analyze and diagnose, identify and implement solutions with the appropriate sense of urgency are critical to success in this role.Change Control - MFG: Knowledge of the processes and procedures by which a change is identified, evaluated, approved, monitored and documented; ability to manage changes in the production environment and processes effectively.
Decisions made by the incumbent will impact inventory; costing; operations; aftermarket availability and NPI & Non-NPI process execution velocity.
The incumbent anticipates system/process challenges and continuous improvement opportunities associated with their current NPI/Non-NPI projects within the MDC space.
They take the lead to identify alternatives, risks and interrelationships of the functional areas involved and assure timely communications among related areas in order to support the creation of an execution orientated, risk managed solution.
The incumbent will adhere to the control standards set by the Master Data Support team, and guide less experienced team members to do the same.
MDC engineers/technicians will assist in the technical training and coaching of less experienced team members and will actively contribute to the quarterly technical peer reviews.
