As a contracted American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter for LTC, you will have the opportunity to work on an as-needed basis, accepting appointments in California.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality, on-site interpretation services in various settings, including medical facilities, social work offices, educational institutions, and workplaces.
* Interpret for diverse clients, using your expertise to facilitate communication between individuals who use ASL and those who do not.
* Cultivate strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded through exceptional service.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and relevant laws and regulations.
* Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and stay current in the field.
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience as an ASL interpreter, with a proven track record of success in diverse settings.
* Excellent interpretation skills, with the ability to convey complex information accurately and efficiently.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
* Fluency in both English and ASL, with a deep understanding of Deaf culture and community.
