The primary purpose of the Project Manager is to be responsible for management and control of major capital projects throughout the organization. Duties include:
1. Technical management of the project
2. Site construction management of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical system installation
3. Project estimating, implementation and supervision
4. Perform reporting and administrative functions to ensure correct billing and accounting practices are followed
5. Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasting
6. Ensure purchasing guidelines are followed
7. Ensure excellent product quality and customer service
8. Establish and maintain strong customer relations
9. Ensure operational plan is executed on time and on cost
10. Compute cost factors and prepares estimates, bids and proposals used for management purposes
11. Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines
12. Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints or construction problems
13. Ensure contractors and project staff adheres to safety standards applicable for the construction site
14. Responsible for contract generation and negotiations
Qualifications:
BS Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred
At least 10 (ten) years of experience managing major capital projects. At least 5 (five) years’ experience in cement industry specifically.
Ability to Travel extensively - Travel expected to range between 50% and 75% of the time.
Manager is expected to be on the project site when construction work is ongoing.
* Demonstrated performance in managing capital projects having values in excess of $25 million.
* Knowledgeable in engineering management, construction management, construction execution and cement plant operations
* Microsoft Office Products. AutoCAD. General computer proficiency.
* Good communication skills with peers and contractors.
