Position: Portfolio Manager

Role Overview:
As the IT Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the portfolio of IT initiatives (Programs, Products, Services, & Platforms) within the organization. You will ensure alignment with strategic objectives, optimize resource allocation, and drive the successful delivery of initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of initiative management principles.
Core Responsibilities:
* Portfolio Development and Maintenance: Ensure alignment of all prioritized work with organizational goals and strategies. Ensure that the portfolio is comprehensive and includes all necessary components for successful execution.
* Governance Facilitation: Facilitate portfolio governance processes, including steering committee meetings and decision-making forums. Ensure that governance processes are followed and that decisions are made in a timely and effective manner.
* Prioritization and Selection: Oversee the prioritization and selection of requested work, balancing resource capacity and demand. Ensure that projects are selected based on their strategic value and alignment with organizational objectives.
* Collaboration and Execution: Collaborate with program/project managers, scrum masters, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and delivery of all initiatives. Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure they stay on track and meet their objectives.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate portfolio risks, ensuring proactive management of issues and dependencies. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions.
* Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on portfolio performance, including financials, metrics, risks, and issues by providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership. Track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective actions as needed to ensure successful delivery.
* Resource Optimization: Optimize resource allocation across the portfolio to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure that resources are used effectively and that any resource constraints are addressed promptly.
* Stakeholder Relationship Management: Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment with business objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their support and engagement.

* Risk Mitigation: Comprehensive risk management plans and mitigation strategies for portfolio-level risks ensure that potential disruptions are minimized. This drives stability and ensures the successful delivery of initiatives.
* Governance and Accountability: Documentation of portfolio governance processes and decision-making criteria ensures that governance processes are followed and that decisions are made in a timely and effective manner. This drives accountability and ensures that the organization operates with integrity.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Stakeholder engagement and communication plans ensure alignment and transparency, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. This drives collaboration and ensures that stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the portfolio lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
* Technical Skills: Strong understanding of project and portfolio management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2).
* Leadership: Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications in project and portfolio management (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2).
* Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, IT, Engineering).
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to use data to drive decision-making and improve portfolio outcomes.
* Portfolio Management Tools: Proficiency in portfolio management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, SharePoint, MS Teams, Azure DevOps).
