FIFA27 will be established as the Local FIFA Subsidiary in Brazil, to work together with FIFA HQ in Zurich and globally, to deliver the biggest women’s sporting event in the world, the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 (“FWWC2027”).
This role will initially be a temporary freelance position supporting the preparation phase for the FWWC2027, with the possibility to transition to a fixed-term contract position once the FIFA27 local subsidiary is established in Brazil.
Job Description
The Position
Under the guidance of the Senior Team Services Manager, the Team Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operational readiness of state-of-the-art facilities for teams and referees, in particular training sites (base camps and venue-specific facilities) for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027.
Key Responsibilities
* Identifying, securing and following-up on the contracting teams’/referees’ facilities, in particular training sites;
* Coordinating rental fee negotiations with host city representatives and/or training site owners;
* Contributing to the planning of Team Base Camp inspection visits in the run-up to the tournaments;
* Contributing to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Team Base Camp brochures by providing adequate information and updating them on a regular basis;
* Coordinating the preparation of maps and drawings for training sites and outer area of hotels (including security perimeters, parking allocation and media facilities);
* Leading the operational planning and implementation of training sites and Venue Specific Team Facilities;
* Overseeing the readiness of the infrastructure and maintenance progress led by Technical Services;
* Collaborating with the relevant functional areas and service providers on pitch management projects;
* Leading cross-functional interaction with all functional areas and other stakeholders (e.g. site owners, clubs and training sites) involved in operations across all teams’ and referees’ facilities;
* Leading preparation and implementation of readiness/simulation exercises at all venues with all departments involved;
* Coordinating the rental fee payment for training sites before and after the tournament.
Your Profile
* A minimum of five years experience in sports event management, ideally at the international level.
* A minimum of two years experience in either facility management or project management relating to Team Services.
* Proven track record in managing complex projects, including both pre-event planning and event implementation.
* Very good and well-founded knowledge of international football or other sports, as well as of training facilities.
* Excellent knowledge of Brazilian culture and facilities, as well as event and competition operations.
* The ability to manage a group of people working on the same projects and coordinate people in other functional areas to contribute to projects.
* High energy levels, exceptional planning and organizational skills, strong negotiation and facilitation skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, positive relationship management abilities.
* Comfortable working in an international, demanding and changing environment.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to and work well with people of other cultures and backgrounds.
* Able to hire, coach, appraise and retain experienced and less experienced employees.
* Right to work in Brazil.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written).
* Fluent in Portuguese (spoken and written).
* Ability to re-locate to Rio de Janeiro.
This role will be a temporary freelance position, with the possibility to transition to a full-time fixed term contract role once a local FIFA subsidiary is established (based in Rio de Janeiro). Whilst working on a freelance basis, this role will allow full-time remote work. Once the role is transitioned to the FIFA27 subsidiary, it may require you to be based full-time (5 days per week) in the office in Rio.
