**Vacancy**:Customs Compliance Manager
**Location**:Piracicaba
This position, is a regional or customs community specific risk and process owner for Customs Compliance.
Individual provides business advice and enterprise support to complex and geographically diverse businesses on Customs and other matters including: general import and export compliance, strategic planning and sourcing solutions, tariff classifications, valuation, free trade agreements, duty suspension regimes, customs system initiatives and deployments, agent management, customs audits, wood packaging and supply chain security.
Individual administers Caterpillar's Global Customs Compliance Program, performing risk assessments, overseeing businesses' customs activity, participating on teams that develop and execute strategic plans for trade operations, providing training and representing Caterpillar in dealings with customs agencies as well as outside industry and customs organizations.
Incumbent provides deep expertise on complex business, trade and managerial issues within a business unit or service organization.
This position must have the ability as a "trade compliance expert" to understand outcomes and have a broad enterprise view and understanding when resolving issues or completing projects.
This requires a comprehensive understanding of Caterpillar's business, accounting, tax and trade issues.
Manages a work unit of primarily professional employees where some review of subordinate work is required as well as training, developing and mentoring.
The position is responsible for all personnel issues and performance evaluation of subordinates.
If not directly managing a work unit, this position oversees or indirect manages trade compliance activities on a business unit or regional basis.
Leads and/or direct teams within or outside of discipline.
Takes full responsibility for outcomes and resolves issues independently.
Has a strong accountability role on teams.
Provides enterprise solutions to business units and Global Tax & Trade management.
Knowledgeable on a variety of tax and trade compliance functions and has a broader understanding of trade compliance issues that impact decision making.
Incumbent evaluates adherence to corporate and external reporting requirements and/or business analysis methodology.
Incumbent accomplishes complex and/or technical analysis and uses data gathered by others to render a trade compliance or business recommendation.
Incumbent provides trade compliance advice/recommendations on strategic business issues and collaborate with internal/external parties as appropriate.
Leads trade Compliance research for business unit and global trade compliance initiatives, including legal entity and supply chain reorganizations and compliance management.
Interprets proposed changes to US and/or non-US trade compliance legislations and regulations, requiring in-depth of experience, knowledge and judgment;
Provides analysis for US and non-US trade compliance audits, frequently working with authorities to resolve Trade Compliance dispute.
Performs trade compliance assessments at the businesses to ensure compliance with trade regulations and Caterpillar's Global Customs Compliance or Export Controls Programs.
Owns critical relationships with trade authorities and trade organizations and represents Caterpillar in co-operation with local business management, Legal Services Division, and advisors in matters dealing with trade compliance.
