NoOffer DescriptionThe requirements for this position are a PhD degree obtained within the last five years. It is essential that the candidate has extensive knowledge of cell culture techniques, with an emphasis on dendritic cells, experience in flow cytometry, molecular biology, and production of immunotherapeutics in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Knowledge of storage of biological samples in biorepositories is essential. Experience in conducting clinical protocols will be considered a plus. Candidates must be fluent in English, available for training internships abroad, and have the ability to work in a team setting.The project aims to produce and evaluate the immunogenic response of dendritic cell-based therapy in people with HIV-1. These individuals will undergo cell therapy in combination with different interventions aimed at achieving HIV control without the use of antiretrovirals. The experimental protocol comprises four main approaches: (i) intensification of antiretroviral treatment; (ii) inhibition of histone deacetylases by means of HIV latency-reversing drugs; (iii) elimination of long-lived HIV cells by means of drugs; and (iv) cell therapy with autologous dendritic cells stimulated by autologous HIV peptides to stimulate the adaptive immune response.The selected candidate will be based at the Federal University of São Paulo's Medical School (EPM-UNIFESP) in São Paulo city, Brazil.This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality.
