POSITION: Solid Waste Supervisor
SEASON: Austral Summer (Oct 2025 - Feb 2026)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Solid Waste Supervisor oversees operations at the solid-waste barn and the workflow of the department.Responsible for the organization of the solid-waste barn, ensuring that applicable SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) are being followed, and that safety standards are being met.Maintain and update the Solid Waste Tracking spreadsheet and ensure quality control of the data being inputted.Coordinate daily tasking depending on the skill set of the Waste Stream Coordinator's.Must have the proper training and be familiar with the established protocol for solid-waste barn activities.Serve as a Spill Team Member and be on call for one week out of every four, twenty-four hours a day.Responsible for the safe and technically proficient operation of equipment such as articulating loaders, graders, fork-lifts, tracked agricultural tractors, dump-trucks, excavators, etc.Perform daily equipment checks to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in safe operating condition.Comply with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.Perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of tall vehicles and heavy equipment, crawling as needed, working outdoors in extreme cold, and walking long distances daily.Accurately record time worked and equipment hours used daily in Maximo.Perform other duties as required.Report to Manager, Solid Waste.REQUIREMENTS: Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods is required.Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum
