Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented individual to assist patients in understanding their insurance out-of-pocket costs. This role involves direct communication with patients to inform them of any outstanding deductibles or copayments, as reflected in monthly invoices. The Patient Account Representative will also be responsible for recording payments received throughout the month and posting them to ensure accounts are properly reconciled before each closing. Additionally, this role involves close collaboration with the Financial Assistance team to identify accounts that may require additional support with out-of-pocket expenses.
Schedule Details
* Location: On-Site (Laguna Hills, CA)
* Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Duties and Responsibilities
* Contact patients daily to inform them of their insurance balances.
* Collect medical deductibles and copayments as necessary.
* Thoroughly document all conversations in our company database.
* Process and post patient payments via check, cash, or card; reconcile all patient payment balances.
* Track and follow up on missing or lost equipment, create correspondence, and follow collection protocols when needed.
* Generate invoices to send to patients and follow up monthly.
Required Qualifications
* Ability to read and understand medical charts.
* Knowledge of medical billing and managed care.
* Familiarity with broad-based medical insurance, including private/commercial networks and government programs.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritize and work independently.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Proficient in analyzing and data mining reports using Excel/Google Sheets.
Education And Experience Requirements
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Experience with cash posting
* Working knowledge of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D benefits is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
* 2+ years of customer service experience within the medical industry.
