**A little about us**:
Oyster is on a mission to create a more equal world by making it possible for companies everywhere to hire people anywhere.
In 2021, we grew rapidly, raising over $70 million in both Series A and Series B rounds and increasing our team size by nearly 10x. And we're just getting started!
As a fully distributed startup, we've built an incredibly strong leadership team and employee base across 50+ countries (and counting!). We embrace asynchronous communication and collaborative work. We live on our platform, and we're passionate about improving our product every day.
Hiring people internationally is complicated - engineering, legal, finance, operations, and HR processes all interact to make it happen. We'd like to find people who think this is as interesting a challenge as we do.
We're an inclusive and diverse workplace, and welcome applicants from marginalized groups - the world over.
**The Role **:
**Location**: This position can be based anywhere in EMEA, Asia, Americas. While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster's positions are fully remote and you can work from home. Forever.
In 2021, Oyster is building out our own Oyster entities across the globe that we will use to employ both our customer's team members and our own internal Oyster staff. Our aim is to provide an amazing experience for all of our employees and raise the bar when it comes to what being employed means. **This is where the International HR Business Partner comes in: you will be helping us build best-in-class HR / People Ops remote & fully-distributed support to a region of our Oyster entities.**
You should be passionate about making our platform as easy and simple to use as possible for our Customers: we want to help them to help themselves as much as possible. This means our HR Business Partners will be working closely with our Product team to build out our Platform through world-class features which make global employment simple, supported by clear and helpful knowledge and insight.
The role will be part of our Customer Operations team and will report to our Customer Operations Director Innes Bailey

- Supporting and advising on complex employment situations (e.g. customised agreements, visas, terminations, etc.) which are unique to the countries in which we operate

- Managing resignations and terminations of team members to minimise risk to Oyster and our customers
- **Internal guidance and training**:
- Working closely and cross-functionally with our Customer Ops and Sales teams to answer questions and provide expert support for our Customers
- Providing training internally about key aspects of employment in countries that you support
- **Process compliance**:
- Ensuring that our ongoing processes are compliant to local and expected norms (e.g. expenses, timesheets, holidays, sick leave, etc)
- **Research and Knowledge Management**:
- Researching and finding out the in-depth answer to any specific employment question in your region, and being aware when employment practices change
- Ensuring that all learnings are documented and FAQ'd (both internally and externally) - and that this knowledge becomes built into the Oyster Platform
**What we're looking for**:
- Experience in multi-country HR / People Operations / Legal: this could be from working in HR or People teams for multi-national companies or you have legal / paralegal / immigration experience
- Experience of employment practices and norms in countries / regions that we are currently focused on (Western Europe, Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia, South America)
- Experience dealing with the full lifecycle of employment (e.g. talent search, offers, employment agreements, resignations, terminations, etc)
- An affinity and interest in how technology and software can help to automate and scale HR functions
- Great with people: a natural, empathetic listener / talker
