Job Description
You will work with the LATAM Energy Procurement Manager, building sourcing projects for the region, collaborating with key stakeholders and advising internal customers to enable the Energy sourcing (electricity, natural gas, LPG, CO2 and other energy commodities) and risk management (supply, price, volume) at the best total cost while maximizing value for the organization.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Support and implement sourcing & risk management strategies for assigned commodities: include implementation plan, follow up to suppliers and plants on execution, manage incidents and provide solutions to any implementation issue.
2. Develop market intelligence with commodity drivers to energy portfolio.
3. Being a member of Global Energy Procurement team, analyze and coordinate efforts to develop and implement commodity, sourcing and risk management initiatives/projects to drive savings by proactively support identification, definition and implementation of energy savings projects in the plants in scope working with “Total System Cost Community (energy demand side optimization)”, plant managers and financial team.
4. Run regional and local tenders in coordination with the Global Energy Procurement team, and negotiate commercial agreements for the countries in scope.
5. Negotiate legal contracts with energy commodities suppliers and network operators, with the support of Global Energy Procurement team, local Legal and in accordance with procurement and accounting policies and processes.
6. If delegated by LATAM Energy Procurement Manager, review vendor performance to assure contract adherence and drive continuous improvements (SRM).
7. Provide inputs to energy position reports consultant and validate energy prices and hedge reports, as applicable, IBP (integrated business planning) forecasts for electricity, natural gas, LPG and other energy commodities, to enable full perspective of price evolution.
8. Promote usage of energy position reports among key stakeholders such as plant controllers, supply chain team and others.
9. Accountable for ensuring that once a negotiation is closed, the corresponding Contract repository workflow (iValua) is started following the procurement procedures and audit compliance.
10. Be part of development, presenting requesting approval of each gate of the O-I Strategic Sourcing process.
11. If needed, support local stakeholders and GBS (Global Business Services) with the improvement of processes related to operational procurement of Energy (PO, IR, invoice validation) to accomplish negotiated conditions.
12. Participate in energy intensive consumers associations meetings to ensure the interest of the company is raised to the right stakeholders, make connections with market, government and commissions to enable proper regulatory risk management.
13. Lead with the support of the LATAM Energy Procurement Manager regular cross-functional meetings to exchange information with key stakeholders.
SCOPE AND IMPACT
1. Lead efforts to source cost effective solutions with suppliers to optimize total acquisition cost and ensure project timelines are met, leveraging Strategic Sourcing Process.
2. Manage energy supply shortage situations and dips in supply affecting plant operations.
3. Identify and develop with the stakeholder alternative suppliers, especially in case of onsite implications on the plant infrastructure.
4. If any contract issue is identified, understanding the business impact and negotiate or support the negotiation of most favorable conditions for O-I.
5. Stay up to date on regulatory changes affecting the cost O-I’s energy supply chain.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Administration or related field.
2. 3 years of proven experience in energy procurement, ideally including energy price risk management.
3. Strong negotiation skills with proven success in negotiating energy, contract terms and conditions.
4. Strong analytical skills.
5. Strategic Sourcing / Category Management process.
6. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
7. Language skills:
1. English (fluent).
2. Spanish (fluent).
8. Project Management skills.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to LATAM Energy Procurement Manager and has no direct reports.
