Assesses profitability, growth, competitors' strategies, and initiative changes to the products or product segments.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for profit/losses for assigned products or product segmentsTakes leadership role in products or product segments (with mid-high level of complexity/impact) as assigned by Senior Product Development ManagerDevelops long- and short-term plans for assigned products or product segments with corresponding personal lines staff and field management staffNegotiates and sets priorities to align product or product segment goals with corresponding personal lines and field management goalsDevelops and implements risk selection, pricing and contract changes for products or product segmentsDevelops and implements new products or product segmentsSecures funding and required resources, including senior management approval when appropriateManages the analysis and research performed in the development of their product or product segment and its alignment with othersWorks with IT and Business Operations to plan system changes and develop requirementsDevelops product implementation procedures to ensure an orderly change or rolloutFacilitates through other parts of the organization to accomplish resultsStays abreast of industry developmentsRecruits, trains and develops Product Development Managers, Asst Product Development Managers and Product Analysts to cover evolving business needsAssists product development team in products or product segments of varying complexity/impactMay supervise one or two Product Development Managers I, Assistant Product Development Managers, Product Analysts or Product Specialists.
