Recycled Plastics Markets Reporter
About the job:
We are looking for a Recycled Plastics Markets Reporter to join our Content team in the Americas.
You will work closely with a group of analysts and editors to assess prices on a daily or weekly basis, produce market intelligence and in-depth analytical content, break exclusive news, investigate market developments, and explain what this means for our customers.
The role will provide exposure and opportunities to engage with industry contacts. You will contribute to raising the profile of ICIS as well as build and showcase your market expertise by attending and speaking at industry events, conferences and at client sessions.
You will collaborate closely with other business functions, contribute ideas and carry out work on new coverage areas and methodology developments aimed at meeting customer needs and expanding the ICIS business.
In this role, you will be encouraged to be your best, to learn and to grow. You will become a recognized expert in your field which can open doors to a wealth of diverse opportunities within ICIS and across the commodities sector at a vital time of global transition.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cover a portfolio of recycled PET, PE and PP markets in Latin Americas and produce weekly content to regular and timely deadlines with the highest level of accuracy and balance.
2. Write insightful news and analysis explaining price trends and market developments for the region.
3. Proactively chase stories across your portfolio.
4. Build and nurture a wide network of industry contacts.
5. Develop and showcase expertise on petrochemical markets.
6. Report on complex topics in an engaging and timely manner through the use of data visualizations.
7. Coordinate with colleagues regionally and globally to tell a cohesive story of market conditions.
8. Transform analytical concepts into easily-understandable written word.
9. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. An inquisitive mind.
2. Ability to write and communicate with clarity.
3. Knowledge of or interest in market economics.
4. High level of numerical accuracy.
5. Excellent inter-personal skills.
6. Experience of working with Excel/Excel-based business tools.
7. Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
8. Passionate, curious, high-performing, accountable team players.
9. Bachelor’s/master’s degree in chemistry, plastics engineering.
10. Experience in plastics industry with knowledge of recycled plastic producers and applications desired.
11. Experience in purchasing or selling plastics desired.
12. Basic analytical understanding.
13. Fluent written and spoken English and Portuguese.
