Job Title: Contract Deployment EngineerDuration: 12-Month Initial Contract Location: Remote (Brazil-based), with international travel requiredMust be English speakingClient: IT Consulting FirmJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Deployment Engineer with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience and strong expertise in Kubernetes, Linux systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure. You will be joining an IT consulting firm on an initial 12-month contract (C2C or 1099), with the opportunity for extension. This is a fully remote role for U.S.-based candidates, but you must be comfortable with international and domestic travel to support deployment and project activities.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (controllers, schedulers, kubelets, deployments, and stateful sets).Utilize Kubernetes tools (kubectl, k8s) and ensure extensibility through Custom Resources, CNI, and CSI.Troubleshoot and manage IAM roles, policies, and permissions.Configure and troubleshoot networking including switching, VLANs, IP addressing, and routing protocols.Analyze traffic and logs with tools like tcpdump, dig, and netstat.Set up Linux networking interfaces, routes, and OOB (Out-Of-Band) interfaces.Deploy and manage Service Mesh solutions; work with Envoy Proxy.Handle SSL certificate management using openssl CLI.Maintain deep Linux knowledge (OS management, systemd, journalctl, containers).Automate processes with Bash or Python scripts.Perform hardware support via ILO, serial consoles, and physical cabling.Configure Active Directory, ADFS, DSC, and GPOs; manage Windows-related systems.Perform network device configuration (Cisco switches, overlays like VxLANs and VRFs).Manage routing protocols such as OSPF, LLDP, and BGP.Apply SRE best practices to ensure reliability, availability, and performance of deployment processes.Required Skills and ExperienceProven experience with Kubernetes architecture and extensibility.Strong Linux administration and networking capabilities.Proficiency in scripting (Bash/Python) for automation.Hands-on experience with SSL/TLS protocols, certificates, and security.Knowledge of containerized environments, namespaces, and system resources.Experience configuring Cisco switches, routing protocols, and overlays.Familiarity with Service Mesh concepts and Envoy Proxy.Troubleshooting expertise for hardware/software, including OOB/ILO interfaces.Experience with Active Directory, ADFS, and Windows infrastructure.Strong understanding and hands-on experience in SRE practices such as observability, alerting, automation, and performance tuning.Must be willing and able to travel internationally as needed.Preferred QualificationsRelevant certifications: CKAD, CKA, RHCE, CCNA, etc.Prior experience working on international deployments.Familiarity with DevOps tooling and CI/CD workflows.Experience working in a consulting or client-facing role.Additional Details:Client: IT Consulting FirmLocation: Remote, but travel to client sites nationally and internationally will be required as part of the role.Duration: 12 months initial term, with possibility of extension.If you are a proactive engineer with strong expertise in Kubernetes, networking, and Linux systems and are looking for an exciting contract opportunity, we encourage you to apply.
