**Position: Senior Rolling Stock Maintenance Planner**
A contract opportunity exists for a **bilingual (Portuguese and English)** Maintenance Planner to be deployed to Angola. The Senior Maintenance Planner will be responsible to configure a CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) and implement the Maintenance Work Management Process at various maintenance facilities for rail rolling stock, workshop equipment and port equipment.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Configure the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System) rail rolling stock, workshop equipment and port equipment.
- Implement Work Planning and Control processes and procedures on site:
- Planning maintenance activities and co-ordination of maintenance activities including weekly/monthly/annual preventative maintenance work and daily adhoc work.
- Schedule jobs to be done and recommend best sequence to accomplish the work.
- Maintains Backlog register in accordance with priority limits.
- Develops a maintenance work schedule for the maintenance area supervisor.
- Schedule and coordinate the planning/scheduling meetings in conjunction with maintenance and operation.
- Creation and closing of work orders with all key information captured
- Verifying integrity of data captured by supervisors on a daily basis.
- Actively manage, coach, train and mentor planners on the use of the CMMS and the Maintenance Management Workflow, to improve overall skill base
- Implement and Manage preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, which will include condition monitoring and other practices.
- Develop Maintenance Procedures (in conjunction with the CMMS system procedures) for all workshop equipment, port equipment and all rolling stock (locomotives, wagons)
- Spares Management
- Work closely with engineering stores personnel to control spares and stock levels.
- Once a job is planned, prior to scheduling, verifies the availability of spares/ materials
- Manage the refurbishment of components with external contractors
- Ensure that all key KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are tracked and reported to all relevant personnel (daily, weekly, monthly), KPIs to include (Availability, Utilisation, Planned vs Unplanned Maintenance, % Schedule compliance, Capacity utilization)
- Reporting
- Ensure data is captured correctly to ensure information disseminated is correct and accurate
- Reliability Engineering Support
- Review trends and performance vs plan and identify reasons for poor performance
- Monitor job completion rates and report trends to the Engineering management team.
- Make recommendation for continuous improvement through the use of RCFA or other quality tools
- Stakeholder Management
- Ensure ongoing communication with Maintenance Manager, Operation Manager and Planners.
- Have weekly head of section meetings, Information sessions and training sessions where required or new/change in processes.
- Ensure safety, legal and company policies are adhered to.
- Implementation a culture of best practice maintenance.
**Minimum Requirements**:
**Experience**:
- At least 10 - 15 years' experience in maintenance planning gained within a Rolling Stock Maintenance Workshop environment, including maintenance planning of Workshop and Port equipment
- Experience in working in remote, developing economy locations on a long cycle roster.
**Qualifications**:
- Completed a trade test as a Fitter, Millwright, Electrical with a recognized institution ideal.
- National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Railway-, Mechanical
- or Electrical Engineering
**Additional Requirements**:
- Experience with rail rolling stock and maintenance workshop planning set up will be advantageous.
- Experience with maintenance planning in the Mining Industry (Fixed and Mobile plant) will also be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and implementing these
- Knowledge of TPM and RCM concepts and principles.
- Knowledge of MS Projects and MS Excel.
