We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Paralegal to join the Thomson Reuters General Counsel's Office to support our global litigation and employment attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation support, administrative skills and project management, as well as excellent research and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English is required (and Spanish while not required, is a plus). The position will report to an attorney manager in Sao Paolo and will work as part of a global team.About the roleProvide general administrative support to litigation and employment/labor attorneys, including: receiving and responding to subpoenas, preparing correspondence, coordinating payment of invoices, managing law firms/vendors in our internal systems and assisting attorneys with monthly/quarterly reporting.Conduct legal research and draft advisory memoranda.Prepare and draft legal documents.Assist with the preparation and service of discovery requests, responses, and subpoenas.Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials.Organize and manage case files and document databases.Coordinate and communicate with internal clients, law firms, and third parties.Summarize and translate (with support of Gen AI tools) depositions, trial transcripts, and other legal documents.Manage deadlines and ensure timely filing of court documents.Develop and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and other tracking systems.Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the legal team.Liaise with other attorneys and legal professionals in the department, including Legal Operations team.About YouBachelor's degree in Law or Administration.Minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.Fluency in English and Portuguese (Spanish is a plus).Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.Proficiency in legal research (experience with AI tools a plus).AccessibilityAs a global business, we rely on diversity of culture and thought to deliver on our goals.
