Work Accountabilities:
1. Capital Investment Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive capital investment strategy aligned with the company's long-term goals and financial objectives.
2. Project Evaluation: Lead the evaluation of potential capital investment opportunities, including financial feasibility studies, risk assessments, and ROI analysis, to support decision-making processes.
3. Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to assess the financial viability and potential returns of capital investment projects under different scenarios and assumptions.
4. Investment Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed investment proposals, business cases, and presentations for executive management and stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics, risks, and strategic benefits.
5. Process Execution and Optimization: Execute and continuously review and optimize CAPEX approval workflows and processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and ensure alignment with company policies and governance frameworks.
6. Capital Budgeting: Collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop annual capital budgets, allocate resources effectively, and prioritize capital expenditures based on strategic priorities and ROI criteria.
7. Due Diligence: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including market research, competitive analysis, and evaluation of regulatory and environmental factors.
8. Post-Investment Monitoring: Monitor the performance of capital investments post-implementation, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular updates and reports to management on project progress, financial outcomes, and deviations from planned targets.
9. Portfolio Performance Reporting: Regularly report on the performance of the capital investment portfolio, including returns, risks, and alignment with strategic objectives. This involves preparing detailed portfolio performance reports, conducting portfolio reviews, and presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders. The reports should highlight key performance indicators (KPIs), financial metrics, and any deviations from the planned targets or benchmarks. This will ensure transparency and enable informed decision-making for future investments.
10. Collaborate with site finance business partners to develop investment inputs and to support any site-level capital modelling required

Core Skills
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field is required.
* A master's degree (MBA, MSc in Finance) or professional certification (CFA, CPA) is preferred
Experience:
* 8-12 years of experience in capital investment analysis, project evaluation, and financial modeling is required.
* Previous experience in the mining industry or a related sector with exposure to capital-intensive projects is highly beneficial
Skills:
* Financial Analysis: Strong analytical skills to evaluate investment opportunities, assess risk, and analyze financial performance.
* Investment Evaluation: Experience in conducting financial feasibility studies, ROI analysis, and due diligence for capital investment projects.
