It was founded in 2019 with a vision to create a leading investment platform for regenerative agriculture and sustainable agribusiness, leveraging its partners' experience in farming, processing, risk management and private equity.
NewAg Partners is transforming food systems by sourcing, structuring and managing catalytic investments in nature-based solutions at scale.
The company will be a new large-scale cocoa enterprise headquartered in Switzerland, and the CFO will be the first hire.
The role: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business.
The CFO will play a critical role in strategic planning, project development, and financial management, working closely with the CEO and other senior executives to drive the company's growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's long-term goals.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.Project Development: Lead financial planning and analysis for new projects, including feasibility studies, budgeting, and financial modeling.
Ensure that projects are financially viable and aligned with the company's strategic objectives.Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements.Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the company's annual budget and long-term financial forecasts.
Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular updates to the CEO and Board of Directors.Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations, commodity price volatility, and credit risk.
Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.Capital Management: Manage the company's capital structure, including debt and equity financing.
Oversee cash flow management and ensure adequate liquidity to meet the company's operational and investment needs.Financial Operations: Oversee the company's accounting, tax, and treasury functions.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and systems.Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Provide mentorship and support to finance staff.Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for financial stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and auditors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Understanding of and significant experience with capital markets participants, banks, sophisticated equity investors and other institutional investors to be able to manage investor relations and communications.Experience in the farming, commodities and agribusiness industry, with a strong understanding of project development and financial management.Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive business growth and profitability.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Fluency in Portuguese and English. This position is to work hybrid in Barreiras, in the west of the state of Bahia, Brazil. Start date: July 2025.
