GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Join us at EDP’s PPA Origination department as our new PPA Originator and be part of the renewable energy transition. You will join a team that operates across different geographies to: Originate new PPA contracts (from marketing projects to potential customers up to the final negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements with Utilities or C&Is). Manage existing energy-related contracts. Carry out market intelligence analysis. This position implies (i) a relevant level of responsibility and internal visibility, (ii) curiosity and flexibility towards new challenges, (iii) strong presentation and communication skills, and (iv) is aimed at profiles with a high attention to detail and goal orientation. 2. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Analyze and provide in-depth research of market mechanisms, regulatory changes affecting renewables, market insights (grid code, market share, counterparty, etc.), and any other support needed for the Origination activities (i.e., new market and/or product analysis). Develop Market Intelligence in existing markets (i.e., Market Soundings). Prepare documentation directed either to (i) Buyers (commercial presentations) and to (ii) EDP’s Top Management. Contractual review and analysis of energy-related contracts (i.e., long-term PPAs). Proactively participate in the complete chain from the origination to the execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Utilities and Commercial or Industrial Customers (C&Is) in the designated regions. Coordinate with EDP internal relevant departments (M&A, Finance, Risk, Legal, local Business Units, Asset Operations, etc.) or external stakeholders when needed. 4.1 ACADEMIC SKILLS
Undergraduate and master’s degree required (master’s degree in renewables is highly valued). Preference for Engineering or Economics degrees with international experience. 4.2 LANGUAGE
Excellent written and spoken Spanish and English. Additional languages are a plus. Proven experience working with contracts in English. Familiar with electricity markets jargon. 4.3 PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Former experience in the electric power industry including energy trading, feasibility analysis of renewable energy projects, renewable energy regulation, PPA sales, and/or commercial strategy. Experience in consultancy firms is a plus. 4.4 KNOWLEDGE
Electricity/energy markets regulation and renewable energy technologies. Financial modeling and economic analysis. Excellent presentation and communications skills (written and oral). Experience dealing with energy or financial contracts. Computer skills (primarily Excel and PowerPoint). Power BI or others would be a plus. 4.5 OTHERS
