Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Senior Finance Analyst is responsible for understanding related accounting concepts, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and working with other senior executives in a team-based environment.
The Senior Finance Analyst should be detail oriented, as well as have a passion for efficiency and process improvement.
Most importantly, his or her insights have an immediate, tangible impact every day in a rapidly growing company.
His / Her tasks main activities are going to be:
Contributes towards the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end monthly internal financial statements
Assist with reviewing monthly financial results based on operational information extracted from ERP data source, ensuring reporting deadlines are met
Give support with Balance Sheet reconciliations review and P&L Accounts, including researching and understanding variances and maintaining supporting schedules and sub-ledgers.
Preparing Ad-hoc Reporting for Management and leadership and assisting with Special Projects, as needed.
Assist with researching complex accounting transactions.
Partners with our third-party tax preparer on various accounting items, including sales tax calculations, regulatory reporting and various financial and accounting requests
Working directly / indirectly with internal auditors to ensure a smooth and timely audit process.
Work together with account directors and heads of departments to support actual vs forecast analysis of cost, expense and margin
Support accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice entry and payments
Support accounts receivable activities, including aging reports and follow-up on overdue invoices, with occasional client interaction
Guarantee enhancement partnership between business and internal / outsourced IT provider
Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization
Perform analysis trends and variances to forecast and prior periods
Review and evaluate the accounting implications for new contracts or modifications to existing contracts
Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationship with leadership, customers, vendors and associates
Handle improvement plans in cash flow analysis, working capital calculation and other financial KPIs
Offer support and advice on compliance to other departments
**Education and/or Work Experience Requirements**:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution, with an active CRC.
3+ year working experience in AP / AR / Accounting routines
**Additional Requirements**:
Domain of ERP systems, preferably Protheus
English language
Thorough understanding of Brazil Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience and working knowledge of Brazilian Statutory to USGAAP monthly reconciliations
Working knowledge of USGAAP
Must possess superior ability to accomplish diverse assignments, exhibit competency in time management and organization, with strong interpersonal skills and sense of ownership
Must exhibit interest in being a team player with all its affiliated characteristics
Proficiency in utilizing MS Office and eagerness to access opportunities to expand skills set and share knowledge with others across the organization
Operates with a keen attention to detail and highest level of ethics and integrity
Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment
Proficiency in both verbal and written communication, which ensures information is clearly passed to staff and management
