Meta seeks a highly motivated, team player to serve as Lead Counsel on the Litigation & Regulatory Enforcement Legal team in Latin America. You’ll be providing specific support on a broad range of legal matters with a particular focus on civil, commercial and electoral litigation in Brazil. This full-time position will be based in Sao Paulo, Brazil and will work cross-functionally with a wide variety of teams across the company. The role requires litigation experience, good judgment, proven work ethic, communication and relationship-building skills, and an interest in learning about new technologies and areas of the law. As part of our team, you will have the chance to work on complex and challenging litigation matters, including issues related to data protection, AI and content moderation. Lead Counsel, Litigation Responsibilities
1. Manage and drive strategy for a variety of high-profile litigation matters, including consumer actions, commercial disputes, electoral matters, and other data-driven and/or content-related issues.
2. Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of litigation strategies, internal processes, projects and tools.
3. Collaborate with and manage outside counsel.
4. Develop approaches to managing legal risk and resolving disputes.
5. Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams and other legal team members.
6. Demonstrate flexibility and work on projects in other areas.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Degree in Law.
2. Membership with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
3. 6+ years of litigation specific experience at top tier law firm and/or in-house.
4. Demonstrated experience to work in a collaborative environment and make sound judgments under tight deadlines with thoroughness and accuracy.
5. Familiarity with Internet laws and regulation, including in emerging areas.
6. Experience in managing simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
7. Fluent English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
1. Prior experience working in tech companies is a plus.
2. LL.M or Post Degree in procedural, consumer or internet law.
