The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in establishing and expanding our sugar trading operations, requiring a strong sourcing network, in-depth knowledge of Brazilian sugar trade flows, and expertise in managing export documentation and local logistics.
The role demands a commitment to high scalability and sustainable business development in the dynamic sugar market.Key Responsibilities:Origination of Sugar: Develop and maintain a strong sourcing network with Brazilian sugar millers and trade houses to ensure a consistent supply of Raw sugar and White sugar.Monitor market trends, pricing dynamics, and quality standards related to Brazilian sugar to identify favorable buying opportunities.Negotiate and finalize purchase contracts, ensuring competitive pricing, optimal terms, and adherence to quality requirements.Conduct thorough due diligence on suppliers, including financial stability, production capacity, and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.Knowledge of Sugar Futures, options, derivatives, and hedging is essential for risk management.Trade Execution: Oversee the end-to-end trading process, from contract execution to delivery, ensuring smooth and timely operations.Coordinate with logistics teams to manage all export documentation, shipping arrangements, and local logistics, including transport and storage.Monitor and mitigate risks associated with price fluctuations, quality control, and supply chain disruptions.Maintain regular communication with suppliers and customers to address issues, resolve disputes, and build strong relationships.Business Development: Identify new market opportunities and potential customers to expand the company's presence in the sugar trading industry.Stay updated on industry developments, regulatory changes, and market trends to adapt trading strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities.Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement effective marketing and sales strategies to promote Brazilian sugar products.Drive high scalability and sustainable business growth, optimizing trading volumes and profitability.Requirements:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Agriculture, or a related field.Proven experience of 10-12 years as a Sugar Trader or Origination Specialist in the Brazilian sugar market.Strong sourcing network and established relationships with sugar millers and trade houses in Brazil.In-depth knowledge of Brazilian sugar trade flows, including pricing dynamics, market players, and quality standards.Hands-on experience in managing all aspects of export documentation and local logistics related to sugar trading.Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to navigate complex trading environments.Demonstrated commitment to high scalability and sustainable business development.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in English and Portuguese.Willingness to work at Santos Port and travel as required.Seniority Level AssociateEmployment Type Full-timeJob Function Sales and Business DevelopmentIndustries Wholesale Import and Export#J-18808-Ljbffr
