The award-winning Forbes 4-Star and AAA 5-Diamond Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is looking for a Restaurant General Manager to join the Bourbon Steak Team!
Located in the beautiful coastal town of Dana Point, this town played an iconic role in the emergence of California's surf culture and today is celebrated for its laid-back vibe and fun, active lifestyle.
The resort is perched on 175 acres atop a 150-foot seaside bluff with over 400 rooms, 115,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, and 8 food and beverage outlets, including 4 restaurants, a beach club, lounge, marketplace, and in-room dining.

In this role, you will oversee Bourbon Steak, managing an Assistant General Manager, Floor Supervisor, and a team of 40 Front of House Team Members, reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage.
The ideal candidate must be an exceptional leader with a passion for creating extraordinary experiences, a talent for training and developing others, and experience in all aspects of restaurant operations (e.g., financial performance, social media reputation, local market capture, and employee relations). At least 3 years of experience as a Restaurant General Manager in an upscale dining environment is required. Strong beverage knowledge and prior luxury hotel experience are a plus.
* Classification: Full-Time
* Shift: Various – must be available to weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
* Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this role is $105,000 - $120,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
What will I be doing?
As a Restaurant General Manager, you would be responsible for directing and administering the activities and services of a designated restaurant(s) in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
* Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant operations including guest service standards, product quality, cost controls, overall profitability, marketing initiatives, budgeting, and policy implementation.
* Monitor and develop team member performance including providing supervision, conducting evaluations, and delivering recognition.
* Create and maintain customer database and partner with Sales and Marketing/Public Relations on marketing strategy.
* Maximize efficiency of technology systems (i.e., Open Table).
* Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate issues and make improvements.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
* Initiate and implement up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and maximize overall revenue.
* Recruit, interview, and train team members.
