**Responsibilities**:
- Provide legal and regulatory advice associated with payments/financial laws and regulations, including payment institution licensing, e-money, digital wallets, payment gateways, credit and debit card settlements, merchant acquiring, payments schemes, card network rules, foreign exchange transactions, receivables, interoperability, anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing.
- Advise on onsite inspections, investigations and queries by financial services regulators, law enforcement agencies and government agencies.
- Provide legal advice associated with outsourcing, data protection, privacy, information security, cybersecurity, customer relationships, consumer protection, commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
- Engage with regulators in Brazil, including the Central Bank of Brazil, the consumer protection regulators/agencies and antitrust authority.
- Develop holistic understanding of various initiatives to identify and issue spot potential gaps across the enterprise. In doing so, build relationships and collaborate with various organizations across PayPal, including Payments, Global Entity Management, Sales/Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Finance, Treasury, Regulatory Reporting and Compliance teams.
- Analyze new initiatives (including business development initiatives and new PayPal products/services) to help ensure activities align with PayPal’s internal policies, applicable laws and regulations, card network rules and partner commitments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, enhance and implement business and regulatory initiatives in a manner that is consistent with PayPal’s policies and risk frameworks.
- Advise on new and emerging legal and regulatory developments impacting PayPal Brazil, including identifying trends and potential impacts on business activities and advise on their implementation.
- Collaborate and coordinate with Government Relations team interactions with industry associations.
