The purpose of the Corporate Electrical Engineer will focus on power distribution, design power systems, and be the electrical expert for all electrical components of capex projects.
They will drive the electrical policies of the US operations.
Reports to the VP Engineering.
Has one direct report.
They must be hands on and will support capex type projects and departmental project managers by generating and providing electrical conceptual designs and budgets along with producing overall electrical engineering design and construction installation packages primarily via the use of outside engineering firms.
This role will travel 30% of time domestically to organizational plants.
Will be able to red line drawings, make suggestions, recommend electrical contractors.
Qualifications
BSEE - Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
At least eight (8) years of electrical experience in one of the following, or combination of these industrial sectors: heavy industrial environments (Mining, Steel, Power Utilities, electrical equipment manufacturer, Engineering Firms).
A strong working history in the technical areas of industrial electrical systems with a preference of Power Distribution along with general Controls/Instrumentation and Electrical Installations.
Knowledgeable in engineering design, construction oversight and construction execution are required.
Capable to multi-task and support multiple projects concurrently.
Working knowledge of the NFPA NEC National Electrical Code and other Industry accepted Electrical Standards (IEEE, IAS, NEMA, UL, etc.)
is required.
Knowledge of large industrial motors and associated motor control.
A proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Products is required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Schedule).
The candidate is to have good inter-personal communication, verbal and written skills (English Language).
Candidate is to be motivated, well organized, and detail oriented.
Candidate must be willing and able to work independently to develop, coordinate, and perform project activities with the help and interaction of other corporate engineers and managers, site and plant representatives, engineering firms, testing firms, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
A working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
A working knowledge of SKM Power system Study software and associated design methods is preferred.
A knowledge of cement plant operations and equipment types utilized in such is preferred.
