As the Director of Business Development for Embraer, this executive role is responsible for maintaining strategic relationships across various business domains within Embraer, while also ensuring the right relationships are maintained between Embraer and Collins Aerospace. Collaborating with the Collins Strategic Business Units (SBUs), this role is focused on providing customer insights through intelligence and strategic alignment with Embraer to support SBUs in strategic, investment, and business planning. This role provides Embraer with an on-site executive point of contact for escalating key concerns and supporting issue resolution across Collins and RTX. Recognized across Collins Aerospace and Embraer as a leading expert in business development, this role will drive the identification of growth opportunities across Collins and support any planning and preparation of business proposals in support of these opportunities. Internally, this role will regularly interface with Value Stream, Marketing, Sales, and Engineering/Technology teams to initiate and drive business development strategies aligned with key business and strategic initiatives.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
Develops Embraer OE strategic plan driven via a thorough understanding of Embraer’s short and long-term strategies
Builds and maintain relationships at the most senior levels within Embraer’s leadership team and key stakeholders
Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with the purpose of understanding the customer needs and driving a business development strategy to meet those needs
Guides the value stream, marketing, and sales leadership teams to define overall account or key pursuit strategy as well as partnership opportunities that meet Embraer’s objectives
Consults with the senior executive leadership teams to drive strategy and partnership decisions
Oversees coordination with value stream, marketing, sales, and technology teams to provide privileged insight as to which products and solutions will meet Embraer’s business needs
Oversees planning and preparation of complex business proposals and makes recommendations to senior executive management to drive strategic decision making.
Lead Collins Aerospace level meetings (cross-SBU) coordination and execution
Lead preparation and presentation at Collins Aerospace level of Product Introduction, Business Units performance, program reviews and status reports to Business Units and Collins leadership (heatmap, industrial performance report, in service report, etc.)
**Basic Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree and 14 years prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years’ experience OR
In absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience is required
Must be available to travel up to 25%
**Preferred Qualifications**:
The person should be a seasoned leader with a proven track record of success in the Aerospace industry, with a strong focus on OE interactions. Specifically, the person should have:
Executive presence and confidence to navigate complex business opportunities and build meaningful relationships across Embraer with key decision makers and influencers.
Experience to leverage stakeholder relationships to influence strategy and position for growth.
Leadership experience in developing a cross SBU collaborative team-based approach to strategy, pursuit, and stakeholder relationship development.
An ability to build commitment and enthusiasm for Collins Aerospace initiatives at multiple levels and across the strategic business units. Capable of building a strong internal network and winning support within a matrix environment.
Strategic vision with an ability to recognize trends and business opportunities and marshal resources to pursue them.
Fosters a cross SBU organizational environment based on trusting, collaborative relationships and alliances to achieve business goals.
