An international startup specializing in carbon credit project development and verification, seeking experienced consultants to join our team and support projects primarily in the Brazilian Amazon region.Job Summary:We're looking for a skilled VVB Consultant to oversee carbon credit projects, create Project Design Documents (PDDs), and prepare Monitoring Reports (MRs).
The ideal candidate will have experience in auditing projects for Verra or other carbon credit certifiers.Key Responsibilities:Conduct on-site and remote audits of carbon credit projects in the Brazilian Amazon.Develop and write PDDs for various carbon credit projects.Prepare MRs for ongoing projects.Verify carbon credit calculations and ensure compliance with relevant standards and methodologies.Liaise with project developers, local stakeholders, and certification bodies.Stay updated on evolving carbon credit standards and methodologies.Requirements:Essential Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Minimum 3 years of experience in carbon credit project auditing, preferably with Verra or other recognized carbon credit certification bodies.In-depth knowledge of carbon credit standards, particularly those relevant to forestry and land use projects in the Amazon.Excellent understanding of greenhouse gas quantification methodologies.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Fluency in English and Portuguese; Spanish is a plus.Desirable Skills:Prior experience working on REDD+ projects in the Amazon.Familiarity with local regulations and practices related to forestry and land use in Brazil.Experience with remote sensing and GIS tools for project monitoring.Knowledge of biodiversity assessment and social impact evaluation in the context of carbon projects.Personal Qualities:Strong ethical standards and commitment to environmental integrity.Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.Excellent time management and organization skills.Adaptability to work in challenging field conditions.Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.What We Offer:Opportunity to contribute to impactful environmental projects in the Amazon.Competitive salary and benefits package.Professional development and training opportunities.International work environment with potential for travel.#J-18808-Ljbffr
