Job Title: Admissions and Records Support Staff (Part-time)
This is a part-time, temporary position not eligible for benefits.
Work Schedule
Monday - Thursday between the hours of 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Friday between the hours of 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, for 20 - 25 hours per week. Summer hours between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday - Thursday.
Job Summary
Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring Admissions and Records Support Staff personnel to work in a dynamic team atmosphere. This position will provide customer service assistance in a professional environment to a diverse population of current and prospective students.
Additional Information
Position ends 06/30/2025 with potential to renew depending on department budget and need.
Essential Functions
1. Provide accurate and consistent front-line customer service/assistance to students and parents regarding admissions, records and related services. Apply regulations and respond to inquiries requiring detailed knowledge of regulations and policies. Ensure compliance with all MCCD administrative regulations, policies, and adhere to professional level of customer service.
2. Use computer databases and basic office equipment to assist students with electronic or paper admissions and records forms/documents. Perform accurate data entry and maintain organized records. Maintain confidentiality, and adhere to department and organizational policies and procedures at all times.
3. Support all day to day operations in the Admissions and Records office.
4. Greet and assess the needs of customers in person and over the phone.
5. Perform additional duties as needed to support the team and department.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience providing front-line customer service in an office setting, in person and by phone.
* Experience and ability to navigate computer databases and basic office equipment, some Microsoft apps, data entry, internet, chat, etc.
* Experience with data entry and communicating rules and/or regulations while handling confidential information.
* Strong organizational skills, attention to detail including researching and interpreting student accounts and the ability to effectively and efficiently prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
* Experience working in a higher education setting.
* Experience performing general office duties, such as filing, scanning, and other administrative tasks.
Special Working Conditions
Some weekends may be required.
