About the Role:
The Technical Product Owner is a seasoned product and technical leader with extensive expertise in key technological and business domains. This role is pivotal in driving the development and delivery of innovative technical products that fulfill our clients’ needs and align with our strategic business objectives. You will oversee the roadmap and backlog for a Product Engineering Team managing multiple products and stakeholders. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure the successful execution of product strategies.
1. Own the technical product strategy and roadmap for a portfolio of products and capabilities. Work closely with technology and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and sponsorship.
2. Lead quarterly planning and alignment of deliverables against company strategic objectives/goals.
3. Own the product backlog, including intake and regular grooming with stakeholders and Product Team. Accept Features and User Stories completed by the Team and ensure they meet the needs of the Business.
4. Own and drive stewardship of agile practices, including Quarterly Planning, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospectives and Daily Stand Ups.
5. Regularly report on team performance, health and business impacts of Features/User Stories delivered.
6. Actively participate in industry events (e.g., financial and technology conferences), publish white papers, host webinars and much more to help advance the technology brand of the company.
7. Provide active leadership and mentorship in technology best practices, methodology and other relevant areas across Teams and the company.
8. Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and apply to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keep up to date on regulation changes.
9. Follow all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and complete all required annual or job-specific training.
10. Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
11. May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
12. Actively learn, demonstrate, and foster the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.

About You:
1. Bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS, Finance, Business, related field preferred.
2. 7-10 years of technical bank operation experience required.
3. Proficient in product and project management with Azure DevOps (or equivalent tool).
4. Knowledgeable in bank operations, HR systems, bank products, and various loan types (mortgage, installment, commercial).
5. Extensive familiarity with financial institutions, computer systems, operating systems, and third-party products.
6. Advanced understanding of user acceptance testing methodologies and process development.
7. Understanding and ability to operate in a highly regulated SDLC environment.
8. Ability to drive decision making across stakeholders leveraging data.
9. Comprehensive knowledge of banking/business unit systems, software, and applications.
10. Advanced PC skills, particularly with PowerBI, Excel and data warehouse products.
11. Experienced in product troubleshooting in client platforms.
12. Strong problem-solving skills to achieve departmental goals.
13. Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
14. High accuracy and attention to detail in technical problem analysis and documentation.
15. Strong analytical skills to understand and resolve complex business problems.
16. Responsive to customer needs and capable of handling difficult or emotional situations.
17. Ability to set goals, prioritize tasks, plan work activities, and meet deadlines independently.
Workstyle: Fully onsite.
We offer a competitive total rewards package including base wages and comprehensive benefits. The pay range for this role is $74,418.40 to $110,000.00, and the pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
