Capital Markets:
Our Capital Markets Group is one of the firm’s fastest growing practices. We offer access to financing in the public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities.
Scope:
The São Paulo office is expanding, and we are looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to be based in our office. Analysts work specifically with the group, assisting with a variety of transactions, including creditor- and debtor-side restructurings, mergers & acquisitions and capital raising. The environment at Houlihan Lokey is collegial and entrepreneurial, and as such rewards Financial Analysts with substantial responsibility and interaction with senior-level professionals.
Responsibilities:
Develop financial models and analyze financial statements, industry developments, acquisitions and divestitures, and various investment attributes of publicly-traded and privately-held companies.
Work closely with talented, experienced, dedicated professionals, who will give you broad exposure to a wide range of industries and highly complex transactions.
Prepare analyses and materials for ongoing, live deals across a range of industries and transaction constructs.
Assist in the preparation of materials for clients and pitches, conduct market, industry and company analyses.
Be actively involved in transaction-oriented work for our clients, including companies (whether distressed or not), asset buyers & sellers, and managers of portfolios across a broad range of financial assets.
Participate in complex negotiations on behalf of our clients.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Have a strong academic Quantitative background ideally in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Law or related courses (graduation by Dec-24 or before).
Ideally at least 24 months of experience (including internship) in Investment Banking / Corporate Finance (M&A, Private Funds Advisory or Debt/Equity Advisory), Special Situation funds, or related areas.
Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies and applications, accounting, finance and understanding of financial statements analysis (with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations).
Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and Portuguese.
Spanish language skills will be deemed favourable but are not essential.
Restructuring experience will be deemed favourable but is not essential.
Independent thinker and resourceful problem solver driven to succeed.
Strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to multitask is crucial.
The candidate must be motivated and have the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of staff in a rapidly changing, demanding, but ultimately rewarding environment.
