The Business Analyst is responsible for working in this customer-facing role to implement the Hansen CIS software. You will need to be an experienced analyst with strong documentation skills as well as a proven ability to communicate with internal and client stakeholders, balancing customer needs with business priorities in software applications and SaaS offerings for customer care and billing solutions for Utilities or Municipalities markets. This job will offer you the opportunity to work within a team environment on software implementation projects to meet specific customer requirements. Work may include support, maintenance, and administration. You will also work independently with latitude for independent judgment and decision-making. This position will require time onsite at the Hansen location in Columbia, SC to support the business demands.
About You
* You are skilled in the application of Oracle database access and SQL Plus and knowledgeable about Utility Billing Software with the ability to lead, plan, execute, and delegate to drive projects to on-time completion.
* You bring a highly proficient skill set in Visio, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and are an effective and proficient oral and written communicator presenting to internal and external audiences.
* You are proficient at converting business needs into technical specifications and facilitate communication between utility customers and technical teams through your motivation and mentoring of others to develop talent.
* You have effective communication skills with strong decision-making and planning abilities.
* You have a Bachelor's degree or two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience including a minimum of two years of data analysis experience on multiple projects with production-level experience included.
* You are experienced in software applications and SaaS offerings for customer care and billing solutions for Utilities or Municipalities and revenue life cycle for electricity, gas, and water services.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and manage business analyst-related work products throughout the system implementation lifecycle (training, design, configuration, testing, implementation, and production) that will include engaging in business requirement sessions to evaluate the customer’s business objectives and goals.
* Collaborate with both team members and clients to prioritize and address issues effectively with the drafting of Customer Requirements Document to identify the customer’s business needs and how HansenCIS-B can meet those business needs.
* Offer clients, implementation, and development project teams insights into industry and product information. Additionally, provide guidance to customers regarding necessary system software configuration adjustments to align with their business goals and help diagnose software problems and conduct in-depth analysis to identify the underlying causes of software support issues.
* Provide insight and liaise with Hansen CIS developers to ensure that the best possible solutions are presented to the customer for their consideration by helping prepare workflow charts and diagrams to modify system software or conduct training sessions for the customer’s project team on all relevant Hansen CIS functions and evaluate the effectiveness of the HansenCIS-B version to be implemented.
* Prepare estimates for time frames required to complete business-related tasks utilizing project tracking tools to maintain and update project information (e.g. Jira) and work with other Business Analysts on strategies to improve the HansenCIS user experience.
* Design functional and integration test plans/scripts, perform testing activities and develop and document project testing approach/plan utilizing your specialized industry knowledge to analyze, design, and implement solutions which address complex business requirements.
