We are seeking a skilled Payroll Accountant Specialist for our LatAm team. This individual will be responsible for managing payroll calculation and payroll accounting for Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring accurate and timely payroll accounting, identifying and resolving any discrepancies, and proactively addressing potential issues. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be vital to your success in this role.
**Responsibilities**:
- Own the payroll process for all LatAm entities;
- Manage relationships with local payroll providers and local government entities;
- Overseeing the entire accounting process related to payroll for LATAM countries.
- Partnering with cross-functional colleagues across finance, tax, and IT organizations, providing payroll and accounting guidance;
- Analysis of P&L and Balance Sheet (US GAAP, Local GAAP & IFRS) - Accruals, Prepayments, Variance analysis, etc.;
- Preparing accounting files, accruals, and reconciling accounts related to payroll;
- Ensuring that all payroll accounting processes are executed correctly, answering queries related to payroll accounting;
- Being the point of contact for all payroll and payroll accounting-related matters;
- Facilitating audits by providing records and documentation to auditors;
- Participating in projects and activities related to the payroll core, making you a jack of all trades in this area;
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies or issues in the payroll and payroll accounting process.
- Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the payroll accounting process;
- Being proactive in identifying potential problems and taking appropriate measures to address them;
- Simplifying processes and driving improvements in the payroll and payroll accounting process;
- Keeping up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance;
- Providing recommendations and insights to improve the payroll accounting process and overall efficiency;
- Adhering to company policies, guidelines, and standards related to payroll accounting;
- Preparing and maintaining adequate supporting/processing documentation about the current flows;
- Actively contributing to the development of a world-class global payroll process.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or a similar field) is preferred, Big Four experience is a plus.
- 7+ years of functional experience with Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico accounting/payroll processes.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google products.
- Strong communication skills, written/verbal, and ability to interact with employees at all levels, including upper management
- Fluent in English and Portuguese, working knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
